The site, a former vacant dairy in Runcorn was transformed into 33 new affordable rent flats.
The development, located on Sewell Street to the east of the town centre, consists of 17 one-bedroom and 16 two-bedroom flats. There are also 33 car parking spaces, three disability spaces, two spaces for motorcycles, two bicycle stores and electric vehicle charging points.
We were employed by AKM Homes to carry out the detailed design of the mechanical and electrical services for the project. NECO provided design for general and emergency lighting, small power and data, heating, water and ventilation for the scheme.
The scheme was the regional winner (North West) and shortlisted finalist at the LABC Building Excellence Awards 2024, in the category of ‘Best Large Social Housing Development’.
